In 1994 a small group of Berkeley alumni in Zurich contacted the CAL Alumni Association and CAL Business Alumni for names of alumni in Switzerland. This was the beginning of what became the Berkeley Club of Switzerland.

    The festival will take place in the old town of Rapperswil, there is only one entrance fee for the whole area, i.e. we can buy the entrance tickets on the evening of the event. The tickets are valid for all the stages and usually available until the last moment as the ground is open.

  • 23-24 Oct 2004, Zürich: CAS Annual Meeting Week-End (PICTURES)

    A unusual city tour of Zürich by an expert / historian on Saturday, then our annual meeting, followed by dinner at a traditional Zunfthaus. Sunday we will explore the Zürich Zoo's special Masoala exhibit, which reproduces a piece of Madagascar rainforest (including animals). Weather permitting we will go for a beautiful stroll on the hills above Zürich, with great vistas on the city, the lake and the Alps.

  • July 2004: Visit of Vice Chancellor of UC Berkeley / Züri-Fäscht

    Vice Chancellor for University Relations, Don McQuade, met with Cal alumni. Update from campus and discussion of the San Francisco - Zurich Initiative, which is aimed at fostering knowledge sharing between companies and institutions in San Francisco and the Bay Area and their counterparts in Zurich and the surrounding region.

    From the website: "Both regions are economic and intellectual capitals replete with blue chip companies, renowned universities, university hospitals and research laboratories. Distinguishing the high-quality life styles of both San Francisco and Zürich are their sophistication, vibrancy and trendsetting cultures including famous opera houses, renowned ballet troupes, prestigious orchestras and outstanding museums.
